Personal safety online
At home, at the office, or scrolling through a mobile device, we reap the benefits of the Internet in thousands of ways, yet most users don’t give a second thought to how their actions online can affect their personal safety offline. Consequently the adequate regulation of whether people use it legally or illegally is virtually impossible precisely because of its infinite boarders and children are of course the most vulnerable. Effectively though every user of the Internet is at risk of having their information used in a way they would rather it were not. Until we develop better technologies to tackle online fraud, cyber-bullying and grooming and indeed prevent these issues from ever occurring, then we will have to settle for the vast array of limited measures that we currently have.
