The i in online Film Competition winners!

What was it all about!?

In January 2011, we launched The i in online Film Competition, asking school children aged 14-18 to write scripts or storyboards for short videos (2-3 mins long) that highlight issues around data protection online. The five categories included:

1. Social networks and privacy
2. Cyber bullying
3. Personal safety online
4. Misuse of personal information
5. CCTV and monitoring

For a detailed description of the different topics please click on the relevant name.

The Winners!
We are delighted with the three winning scripts! Congratulations to each of them. All the entries received were of a very high standard.

The authors of the top three winning videos ideas will be asked to work with a professional film production team and help to make their short-film become real! The actors can be the school children themselves if they wish (provided they have previously obtained parental consent) or professional actors.

Next Year’s Competition

Due to the success and extremely high standard of entries from this year, we hope to run a similar competition next year, in conjunction with our Data Protection Day activities in January 2012.
